Our Counter People
Hello, I’d like to post a request for some of you.
Our counter-people work very hard at their jobs. Not only to they answer the phones, book appointments and consultations for eight artists. But they run errands, clean, get coffee and lunch for everybody, field questions on the phones and in person, check clients in and out for their appointments, order supplies, handle office and clerical tasks and the list goes on and on. Not to mention putting up with eight different “artistic” personalities on a daily basis. For the most part, they all handle these daunting tasks with grace, professionalism and dignity. Nobody’s perfect, but I think they come very close.
My request is this; Please treat them the way you’d like to be treated. Simple, ‘eh? Not for some people. I know it can be frustrating, having to wait so long to get work done. It is not their fault. I know it sucks calling the studio and hearing that your artist is busy with a client and will have to get back to you. I know it’s maddening, when your schedule and your artist’s somehow don’t seem to mesh. And I know it is rough having days where nothing seems to go your way. But taking out your frustration by talking down to or yelling at someone who is already working their behind off is unacceptable. They deal with quite a bit of this every day. And I, personally don’t think anyone appreciates being treated with disrespect. Sometimes a little bit of kindness goes a long way.
O.K. I’m stepping down, off of my soapbox now. Thanks for your time,
Patrick
